Mr Ricardo Mohammed-Ali

Mr Ricardo Mohammed-Ali DDS, MBBS, LDSRCS(Eng), MFDSRCS(Eng), FRCS(Eng) OMFS is a UK trained consultant Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon based in Sheffield.

His area of clinical practice includes facial reconstructive surgery and he treats patients with facial soft tissue and bony deformities due to growth conditions or trauma.

Mr Mohammed-Ali works with the Orthodontic team at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital & Barnsley Hospital to treat patients with facial disproportion that requires reconstructive facial surgery. He also works with the Plastic surgery team to treat patients with facial weakness and deformities.

Mr Mohammed-Ali is one of the few specialist in the UK providing a comprehensive treatment for facial nerve injuries that includes nerve repair, nerve grafting, dynamic and static reconstructive procedures and the use of botulinum toxin to manage facial asymmetry, facial myoclonus and eye spasms.

Training

Mr Mohammed-Ali is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Following the completion of his higher specialist training, Mr Mohammed-Ali completed a Fellowship in Reconstructive Cosmetic Surgery.

He is qualified in both medicine and dentistry and has done his basic oral and maxillofacial surgery training at Guy’s, St Thomas’ and Kings College Hospital in London, the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead and the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford. His higher oral & maxillofacial surgical training was based at the Sheffield Teaching Hospital, Rotherham and Chesterfield Hospitals, Derby Royal Hospital and Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham.
