Caroline MacDonald is a paediatric surgeon and urologist. She is on the on-call rota for PSU and during her non-emergency cover is a paediatric urologist. She trained early in her career in Yorkshire and went on to work in Scotland, finishing with the European Fellowship at Great Ormond Street Hospital For Children. She is currently lead for Nephro-urology, audit lead for PSU and works with the endocrine and paediatric and adolescent gynaecology team to provide specialist care in DSD (differences of sexual differentiation).
She is academically motivated with an MSc in Genetics from UCL and a MD from the University of Glasgow. She sits on the British Association of Paediatric Urology Research Committee and the National Collaborative for Paediatric Surgery. Her current projects involve clinical and patient focused outcomes for children’s urology and improving outcomes for young men with testicular torsion.
