Brain Injury Community Service

Tadworth brain injury co-ordinator

The Brain Injury Co-ordinator is a specialist in brain injury who works with clinical staff at the hospital in order to provide information, education and support to families and schools after a child’s discharge from hospital. The Co-ordinator can be contacted by families at any stage and will also call families and schools to ask about the child’s progress.

The Co-ordinator may ask questions about your child’s:

• behaviour
• development
• memory, thinking and learning
• fatigue
• sleeping and eating
• talking and listening

The Co-ordinator helps your child and those who are involved in caring for them to understand any changes that may have occurred and to develop ways to manage them. They will also help with the co-ordination of services and agencies.

This service is delivered in partnership with The Children’s Trust and Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.
