We’ve been shortlisted for the prestigious Nursing Times Award!

The amazing 0-19 Research Network which Sheffield Children’s are a part of, have been shortlisted for two awards at this year’s Nursing Times Award, one for Public Health Nursing and another for Clinical Research Nursing.

The 0-19 Research Network is made up of 0-19 Practitioners (Health Visitors and School Nurses). This pioneering network was established to increase participation and engagement with children and families in public health research. Through creating research champion roles, communities of research practice and a research network, the aim is to provide opportunity to enable capacity and the delivery of research in the community within the 0-19 age group.

This incredible effort has been recognised by the Nursing Times Award – the awards bring together the nursing community to shine a light on the brightest talent in the profession and recognise those who are making nursing innovative, patient-focused, and inclusive.

Louise Wolstenholme, 0-19 Lead for Research and Health Visitor said: “Being a Nursing Times Awards finalist feels amazing – the 0-19 Research Network project team, work above and beyond to make the initiative a success and to receive recognition of this nationally is quite momentous. Lisa and I feel privileged to be attending the ceremony on behalf of Sheffield Children’s – most importantly we know that research active organisations have better health outcomes for children, young people and their families and we are delighted that the 0-19 Service is making a difference through research.”

Pauline Williams, Head of 0-19 Community Service said: “Sheffield Children’s 0-19 Service have enabled the growth and development of our colleagues in research. We have always supported the 0-19 research network and colleagues who have joined from the very early stages of this collaborative project, and we are so pleased for the nomination as a recognition of this innovative practice.”

Congratulations to everyone who has contributed to this recognition. Sheffield Children’s will discover the outcome of the awards at the ceremony on Wednesday 25 October in London.
