Course content

  • course manual: a comprehensive guide to managing major paediatric trauma
  • tutorials and seminars teaching the principles of managing major paediatric trauma as well as the specifics needed to be an effective member of a paediatric trauma team
  • immersive scenarios and debriefs designed to give the candidates the opportunity to practice what they have learned and to explore the full range of types and patterns of major trauma

Who the course is for

The CIT course is for any potential member of a paediatric trauma team who does not have extensive experience of paediatric major trauma.

Applications are welcomed from middle grade doctors in paediatrics, core trainees in emergency medicine, core trainees in surgery who work in paediatric surgery and trainees in anaesthetics who have paediatric experience.

Please note that the CIT course is primarily available to trainees nurses and ODPs in Yorkshire and the Humber region. Applicants from outside of this region will still be considered for places.
