Benefits of working for us

DCD team member

As well as giving you the chance to be part of a well-respected and high performing Trust, we also have a number of favourable benefits to offer employees.

Pay and opportunities

Visit the Health Careers website to learn how the NHS is structured, the pay, benefits and types of roles we have.

Annual leave

All employees of the NHS have benefits that include a generous annual leave entitlement of 27 days plus eight bank holidays, (pro rata) rising to 33 days plus eight bank holidays (pro rata) after 10 years of service.

Pension

Most employees have the option of joining the NHS Pension Scheme which is a final salary scheme and currently has a 14% employer contribution rate.

A new law means that every employer must automatically enrol workers into a workplace pension scheme if they:

  • are aged between 22 and state pension age
  • earn more than £9,440 a year
  • work in the UK

You will receive further information about your pension when you start work at the Trust.

Employee schemes

Trust employees have the opportunity to join valuable salary sacrifice schemes including childcare vouchers, bicycles, lease cars and electrical items.

Arrangements can also be set up for employees to join the Westfield Health Scheme.

Discounts

Trust employees get discounts at a range of local shops, restaurants and services which are listed on the staff intranet.

The national NHS Discounts scheme also offers discounts from more than 200 leading high street brands and includes house and motor insurance, gym memberships, financial products, helplines and holidays.

Work-life balance

We are committed to supporting employees with their work-life balance and have a variety of flexible working arrangements and opportunities in place which all employees have the right to request.

Eligible employees may also be entitled to relocation benefits if they are required to move house to take up their post at the Trust.

The health and wellbeing of staff is important to us and all employees have access to occupational health, physiotherapy and confidential counselling services if they are needed.

We are currently working on a variety of initiatives in order to further value and support our employees’ health and wellbeing.
